Chromosome 15 (human)


In the human genome, chromosome 15 is one of the 23 chromosomes. It is an acrocentric chromosome, found within group D of the human karyotype. As with all autosomes, somatic cells carry two copies of chromosome 15, while gametes carry only one copy.

Chromosome 15 is approximately 106 Mbp (million base pairs) in length, comprising ~3-3.5% of the haploid genome
